What I have to offer
I have carded pure Mohair for Spinning or Felt Making.
Available in 100g. bags
I have Mohair knitting yarns in 2 weights.
Double knit which has a blend of 9 % Merino Wool.
Arran which has a blend of 20 % Merino Wool.
The
Arran weight yarn is suitable for any Arran weight pattern. Likewise the Double Knit is suitable
for any double knit pattern.
I have Mohair Singles Yarn for Weaving. I have though knitted this very
successfully on big needles and made lovely scarves and stoles with a lovely lacy finish, which sets
into shape. This yarn is blended with 20 % Merino wool.
All of these yarns are milled relatively smooth. You can fluff them up with a
teasel brush once you have finished and washed your creation if you want to.
They come natural or dyed, in 200g. approx. skeins or 50 g. approx. balls.
In time
I will be offering ready made garments and home furnishings both knitted and
woven in the near future.
Minstead Mohair is grown here at Brock Farm, in the New Forest, the fibre is then sent
away to Wales, to be milled. I then take the process on from there. All of the
items I sell are of the very best quality. The garments will be hand or machine
knitted with love and attention to detail. The cushion covers, shawls, scarves
and throws will be woven with enthusiasm and passion. As time goes on I will
constantly up date and individualise my designs. Offering my customers a fresh
and exciting range of unique products.
This is my third year of trading – I still aspire to be more creative than I
have managed to be so far. There just aren't enough hours in the day.
